Choosing a liquid nitrogen doser comes down to a few practical questions about your line. JoyCan's range — the UltraDoser 150S, UltraDoser 2KA, CryoDoser Flex Craft Custom and CryoDoser Flex Pack Premier — is built so there's a right-sized match for production speed, filler type and nitrogen supply.

1. Production speed (CPM)

The maximum speed of your filler, in containers per minute (CPM), is the primary filter — each model is engineered for a specific speed range:

• UltraDoser 150S — up to 150 CPM. A robust, entry-level solution that's perfect for small-scale operations, craft brewers and pilot lines.
• CryoDoser Flex Craft Custom — up to 200 CPM, with variable dosing for more demanding craft and custom formats.
• UltraDoser 2KA and CryoDoser Flex Pack Premier — high-speed solutions accommodating up to 2,000 CPM, engineered for large-scale, high-throughput lines where efficiency and reliability are paramount.

2. Filler type

Your filler configuration matters. For linear fillers with three or more fill heads, the CryoDoser Flex Craft Custom is required: its Variable Dosing capability allows a different dose duration for each container, so every package gets the right dose even as containers move through the fill heads at different times.

3. Nitrogen supply

Match the doser to the nitrogen supply you'll feed it:

• The UltraDoser models (150S and 2KA) are designed for lower-pressure systems, typically accepting up to 22 psi — an ideal match for the mobile liquid nitrogen dewars common in smaller operations.
• The CryoDoser Flex models (Craft Custom and Pack Premier) accept a higher inlet pressure of up to 100 psi, suited to bulk and microbulk supply.

4. Additional features

A few options fine-tune performance for your product and environment:

• Gaseous nitrogen purge — critical for preventing frost and ice buildup around the dosing nozzle, keeping doses consistent.
