Hot-Swap Dewar Manifold for Vaporizer, Non-VJ
Run two liquid cylinders into one vaporizer feed and change either one without stopping supply. Close the empty cylinder's shutoff, swap it out, and the other cylinder keeps feeding the line. A check valve on each leg stops the full cylinder from backfeeding into the one being changed.
This manifold is non-vacuum-jacketed (non-VJ). It frosts over in service and some liquid flashes to gas in the brass, which is fine ahead of a vaporizer. Where liquid has to arrive as liquid, such as feeding a doser, use vacuum-jacketed piping instead.
- Service: liquid nitrogen or liquid argon
- Construction: non-VJ brass, 3/8" header
- Shutoffs: two 1/2" cryogenic globe valves, one per cylinder
- Backflow protection: a 3/8" cryogenic check valve on each inlet leg
- Relief protection: three 300 psig thermal relief valves, one on each leg and one on the header
- Connections: CGA-295 on both cylinder inlets and on the outlet
- Mounting: straight 1/2" x 3" brass long nipples on both sides of each shutoff give clamp points for the Stainless Manifold Floor Stand
